Right now this site does one thing: it takes an email address so we can tell you when posting opens. This page describes exactly what that involves. It will be replaced with a fuller notice before the site itself launches.

What we store

• Your email address — because that is the thing you asked us to email.
• The date and time you signed up, and which form you used.
• Part of your IP address — the last portion is discarded before it is stored. We keep it only as evidence that the signup was genuine, and it is not enough to identify you.
• Your browser's language setting, so we know which languages to prioritise later.

That is the complete list. No tracking cookies, no analytics scripts, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party scripts of any kind on this page.

Why we are allowed to store it

Because you consented, and only for as long as you keep consenting. We confirm every signup by email before adding you to the list, so an address typed in by someone else never gets mail from us.

Who else sees it

Three suppliers process it on our behalf, and none of them may use it for anything else:

• Cloudflare — serves this page and passes on the form submission.
• MongoDB Atlas — stores the list.
• Amazon SES — sends the confirmation email.

We do not sell your address, share it for advertising, or pass it to anyone else. If that ever changes, it will not change retroactively for addresses collected under this notice.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep the address on a do-not-email list so that we cannot accidentally mail you again — if you would rather it were erased outright, ask and we will erase it. Consent records are kept for two years after the subscription ends, because they are the proof that we were allowed to email you.

What you can ask us to do

• Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
• Correct it.
• Delete it.
• Stop emailing you — there is a one-click unsubscribe link in every email, and it needs no login and no reply.

If you are in the UK or the EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
